The Psychic Library
Why not psychically order something to appear in the future?
Have you ever had yearnings? You wanted something and could not get it out of your mind. It happens to me sometimes.
I remember a book that I had read and one day I was hit with a “yearning” to read it again. Or maybe I just remember reading something “somewhere” and I just have to find out where I read it.
The only place to solve those “wonderings” and stop those “yearnings” is in a library, so off I went to the place that held the answers.
The object of my attention on that day was Judy Chicago, an artist that designed “The Dinner Party”, “The Birth Project” and other installations. What made her stand out from the pack of hungry artists, was the fact that she did designs and then women all over the United States volunteered to put those designs onto quilts and all kinds of materials. The “Birth Project” is a moving work of art about the subject of, what else, but “birth”.
On that morning I had a yearning to see those works of art again, so off I went to the last place I had last seen “The Birth Project” book on the shelves at The University of … (Do you really think I am going to tell you the name of my magical university!)
The University of… was actually about an hour driving time from my house, but I had library privileges where I could check out a book for a whole semester, so it was worth the drive.
As I climbed the stairs to the third floor of the library, I was looking forward to possessing that book, and all the works of art contained in it, where it would sit for a couple of months waiting for me to flip its pages.
I rounded the corner of the shelf, found the library call number, skimmed the shelf…AND… “MY BOOK” wasn’t there.
Needless to say, I was not a happy person. If I had been a child I would have stomped my foot and yelled, “I don’t want any other book. I want that one.” But I was not a child and this was a library where the slightest whisper was “shhhhed”.
It was a grim trip home I was about to face.
BUT… as I walked passed the table I had passed on my rush to the shelves and to “my book”… THERE IT WAS, the book was sitting there waiting for me.
Now, obviously this one event does not a psychic happening make. But books appear and disappear, fall off the shelves at my feet and wait for me at tables, and when I open them up to a random page, they answer the questions in my mind.
I think that library likes me. I am quite sure I have a psychic connection with that particular library.
Next trip I think I will “psychically call ahead” and ask the book I want to meet me at a table. Yes, that is a little bit harder than asking the librarian to reserve it for you, but doing things “the psychic way” is much more fun.
Wouldn’t you like to “psychically call ahead” and request your book, too?
