Psychic Vampire on the Bravo Show, “Work Out”?
I was watching Work Out on Bravo last week, and when I heard the word “emotional vampire” my ears perked up.
Wow! They were talking about psychic energy on Work Out, and they didn’t even know it.
Before I explain that statement, let me tell you a little bit about the show. I would define “Work Out ” as another one of those “reality shows” with a new twist. The show is filmed at Sky Lab in Los Angeles.
The owner of Sky Lab is Jackie Warner, and most of the show revolves around her and her relationships. One of the segments on the show consists of Jackie talking to her therapist.
I watched “Work Out ” one night last year and got hooked on the show. I had originally thought that I was going to learn about exercising. It turned out the show was mostly about the drama and comedy of relationships, but by then I was hooked.
It is easy to get hooked on reality TV.
So there I was, watching “Work Out ” when Jackie went to see her therapist. They were talking about one of the trainers and how this woman craved attention. The trainer exhausted people. And no matter how much attention she got, it was never enough.
Then the therapist said that the woman was probably a narcissist, an “emotional vampire,” who sucks everyone’s energy.
I ran to get a pencil to take notes.
Why did that statement about an “emotional vampire” interest me?
…because I often get questions from students and blog readers asking, “What is a psychic vampire?“ An “emotional vampire” is simply another way of calling someone a “psychic vampire.”
Let’s take an example.
You are full of energy, laughing, feeling really good about the world, and in walks a friend (or anyone else) and she waves and comes over to you.
You are excited to tell her about your good day, but she complains that her life is a mess and she is so weak she can hardly raise her hand. She talks on and on about her terrible life.
Then before you even get a chance to say a word, she says, “I am feeling so much better. Whenever I am with you, I seem to get such an energy boost.”
Then she turns and walks out the door.
You, on the other hand, are exhausted, you feel like she has drained every ounce of energy out of your body.
And she has.
You have just experienced a “psychic vampire.”
A “psychic vampire” is someone who drains other people’s psychic energy and takes it for her own.
She is a clone of “Dracula”. He sucked blood. She sucks energy.
That woman might not know what she is doing or she may know exactly what she is doing and be very proud of it.
So when someone calls a person an “emotional vampire“, you can substitute the words, “psychic vampire.”
This is an entirely unacceptable way to behave psychically, and if you are the victim of someone who keeps draining your energy, you need to learn how to shield yourself from her. Or maybe even take a little of her energy to teach her a lesson.
Psychic energy is abundant in the universe; there is no need to steal from other people.
